Rainton Village Hall on a Thursday night is full of great humour, good and bad bowls and excellent chat. Rainton Carpet Bowls Club enjoy meeting & playing on Thursday evenings from September to the following March.

Rainton Carpet Bowls Club has two carpets and two sets of bowls. Carpet bowls can be enjoyed by virtually anybody and is one of the few sports where ladies compete equally with men. Aim of the game is to bowl the ball from one end of the carpet – avoiding the square wooden block in the centre of the carpet to get it as close to the Jack as possible. The team with the nearest bowls wins the end. The team with highest score wins the match.

Offering a very warm welcome to new members – you don’t have to live in Rainton to join. The game is easy to learn and fun to play. You will find yourself among friends, and will enjoy great companionship.

Rainton Carpet Bowls Club plays friendly yet competitive matches against local villages as part of the Vale of Mowbray Carpet Bowls League. Spectators are very welcome at these matches.
