An 18 month long project to renovate Rainton Village Hall has finally resulted in the building being officially re-opened.

Welcoming visitors to the re-opening celebration and Garden Get Together, Mrs Common 'thanked the volunteers who have worked hard to renovate the Village Hall. The renovation project has been a great example of a community working together for the best possible outcome. Rainton Garden Club shared a fantastic display of seasonal home-grown produce, plants & flowers and visitors had chance to learn about the activities on offer and what's on in the Village Hall, with the group representatives available to answer questions.

The younger visitors enjoyed a sunflower trail around the village. To win a prize - everyone was challenged to write down down the name of the house where they saw the sunflowers on display. A popular feature of the day was a plant stall. With many of the plants sourced from garden club members - there was something for everyone's garden.

Plenty of great coffee, tea and amazing homemade cakes were enjoyed with a chance to catch up with friends and neighbours. Thanks to everyone who visited the Village Hall yesterday and helped to make this event an enjoyable occasion.
